A Prayer of Dedication and Sacrifice
"And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen." - 2 Chronicles 35:12

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You today in humility and reverence, my heart is moved by the truth found within the sacred words of Scripture. In 2 Chronicles 35:12, we read, "And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.” Lord, I thank You for the profound wisdom contained in this verse, which speaks to the heart of worship, sacrifice, and dedication to You.
Father, I recognize that the act of removing burnt offerings signifies the importance of preparation. Just as the people of Israel prepared to offer their gifts before You, I also understand that I must prepare my heart as a sanctuary where Your presence may dwell. I pray that You reveal to me any distractions or weights I carry that prevent me from coming to You in complete devotion. Help me to lay down anything that hinders my relationship with You, whether it be sin, pride, or the chaos of daily life.
Lord, I acknowledge that as the Israelites offered according to the divisions of their families, You have called us to serve within our own families, communities, and churches. May I, too, step into those divisions with a spirit of sacrifice, offering my talents, resources, and love generously. Help me to view every opportunity as a chance to serve You and those You’ve placed in my life. Let my actions reflect the love of Christ so that my family and friends may see and glorify You.
Gracious Lord, Your Word teaches that offerings should be given willingly and according to the heart. I pray that my offerings—of time, treasure, and talent—will be given not out of obligation but from a place of love and gratitude. Let me embrace the spirit of generosity mirrored in the practices of Your people as they offered to the LORD.
As they followed the instructions written in the Book of Moses, I pray to be diligent in seeking Your Word and abiding by its truths. May it guide my steps and illuminate my path, allowing Your divine wisdom to shape my life choices. Teach me, O Lord, to prioritize spending time in Your Word, so that I may not only read it but also apply it in my daily life.
Lord, I bring before You the collective offering of Your church. We are a body with many parts, and each part has a role to play in the furtherance of Your Kingdom. I pray for unity among us, that we would come together in love and harmony, offering our diverse gifts to accomplish the mission You have laid before us. Let our offerings be a fragrant aroma unto You, pleasing and satisfactory in Your sight.
Father, as we acknowledge the sacrifices made by those who have come before us, I remind myself of the greatest sacrifice ever made—Your Son, Jesus Christ. Through His blood, we are redeemed and invited to offer our lives as living sacrifices unto You. I commit to reflect on this truth daily, so that I may live in a way that honors His sacrifice, giving You glory in everything I do.
Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of participating in Your divine plan through our offerings. Help me to remember that it is not just the act of giving that matters but the condition of my heart as I do so. May every offering I bring reflect my love for You and my desire to see Your Kingdom manifest here on earth.
In the name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.
