Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with hearts filled with reverence and awe, seeking Your guidance and strength as we meditate on the profound truths found within Your Word. Lord, as we reflect on the verse from 2 Chronicles 22:12, which states, "And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land," we are reminded of Your unwavering faithfulness and the refuge that can be found in Your presence during tumultuous times.

Oh Lord, just as You protected Joash, who was hidden away in Your house, we recognize the trials and tribulations that surround us in our own lives. Single-heartedly, we come before You to ask for Your divine shelter—a hiding place where we can find peace amidst chaos. In these moments where we feel oppressed and overwhelmed, remind us that we can always retreat to You. Teach us how to dwell safely in Your sanctuary, away from the Athalias of our time, be they the fears, doubts, or worldly troubles that seek to reign over our hearts and minds.

Father, we thank You for the six years that Joash was shielded by Your grace—years spent in safety, comfort, and growth. As we think about this period, we pray that You, too, would grant us seasons of preparation within Your presence. Help us to utilize these hidden years wisely, that we may grow deeper in our faith and understanding of Your ways. Teach us to lean on You and draw strength from our hiding place in prayer, scripture reading, and worship.

Your Word reminds us that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May we never lose sight of this promise! Instill in us a stronghold of faith that cannot be shaken even in the face of adversity. Let our hearts be steadfast, trusting in Your providence as we wait upon the fulfillment of Your divine plan for our lives.

Lord Jesus, as Joash's hidden years were ultimately followed by His rise to leadership, we pray for all facets of our lives that feel hidden, overlooked, or stagnant. We ask that You reveal Your purpose and timing for us. Help us to be patient and have faith that Your plans are good and not to harm us, but to give us a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). As we are hidden in Your presence, prepare us for the roles You desire us to fulfill when the time comes.

As we navigate through these challenging times, Holy Spirit, empower us to be vigilant and discerning. Help us recognize the ‘Athaliahs’ that attempt to distract or mislead us. May we stay grounded in Your truth, becoming wise stewards of our decisions and actions so that we may shine Your light to those around us.

Let us also remember those who feel lost, vulnerable, or abandoned during their own struggles. May we extend Your love and protection to those who need it most, being Your hands and feet in a hurting world. Allow us to be a beacon of hope for others who face the darkness of despair.

In conclusion, Lord, we surrender our need for control, understanding, and clarity into Your capable hands. Fortify us with patience, faith, and the assurance that as we hide ourselves in You, we are never alone. May our lives reflect the light that comes from being in relationship with You, declaring boldly: "He was with them hid in the House of God!"
