In these poignant words, we find a profound reminder of the sanctity of life, justice, and the danger of allowing greed and corruption to dictate our actions.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that in our world today, the spirit of Naboth’s vineyard is still present. Many are stripped of their rights, their voices silenced by the powerful who seek to exploit and enrich themselves at the expense of others. Lord, we lift up to You all those who face injustice and oppression, who are vulnerable and marginalized. May Your righteous hand protect the innocent, just as You did for Naboth.

We are reminded, O God, of the importance of fasting—not merely as a ritual, but as an expression of deep humility, a means of seeking Your face in earnest prayer. We pray that, as it was in the days of old, our hearts may be stirred to fast for the injustices around us. When we proclaim a fast, may it be for the purpose of seeking Your will and drawing closer to You, not for selfish motives or vain glory.
