Heavenly Father,

I come before You in reverence and humility, recognizing Your sovereignty over all creation and acknowledging that You are the source of all wisdom. As I meditate on the words of 1 Kings 1:7, "And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him," I am reminded of the importance of the counsel we seek and the company we keep. Lord, in this moment, I pray for Your guiding hand over all decisions in my life, directing my heart to seek wise counsel that aligns with Your will.

Father, just as Adonijah sought the company of Joab and Abiathar to support his intentions, I recognize the potential for influence in the relationships I cultivate. Help me to discern those whom I confide in and seek counsel from, ensuring that they are aligned with Your truth and purpose for my life. Lord, I ask that You grant me the ability to recognize the motives of others. May I not easily be swayed by persuasive words or attractive propositions, but instead seek Your guidance first and foremost.

Let me be aware of the influence of the people around me. I pray that I would surround myself with individuals who genuinely seek Your heart, who uphold Your principles, and who encourage righteousness. Lord, prevent me from falling into the trap of seeking validation or support from those whose paths diverge from Yours. May I have the courage to distance myself from counsel that leads away from Your truth, even if it comes from those whom I love or respect. Help me to value Your wisdom above all human opinions.

Holy Spirit, illuminate my understanding as I navigate relationships and decisions. Teach me to look beyond surface appearances and to recognize the deeper implications of aligning with certain individuals or groups. I ask that You grant me clarity regarding where to invest my time and resources; guide me toward those partnerships that will ultimately glorify You and advance Your kingdom.

As I reflect on Adonijah’s circumstances, I am also reminded of the responsibilities that come with leadership and influence. May I strive to lead as You would have me lead—humbly, justly, and with a servant's heart. Lord, place within me a desire to pursue integrity in all that I do. Whether in my personal life, my family, or my profession, help me to stand firm in my values and to inspire those around me to seek You in their own lives.

Grant me the wisdom to recognize when I am being led astray by worldly counsel, and give me the strength to choose the narrow path. I pray for the discernment that will allow me to see whether a call to action is truly from You. Let my heart be attuned to Your voice, always seeking to understand Your will in situations where I find myself confused or uncertain. Lord, may Your truth be my compass, guiding me through the complexities of human relationships and ambitions.

Finally, I am reminded of the impact of collective choices made in counsel. I pray for encounters that will lead to constructive discussions and decisions that honor You. Let our conversations reflect Your glory, resulting in actions that uplift and support one another in our walks of faith. In times of conflict or decision-making, remind me of the importance of coming together with believers who will guide me back to You.

Lord, I am grateful for the gift of wisdom and the provision of godly counsel in my life. May I always seek You first and place my trust in Your guidance. In every situation I encounter, let Your presence be my comfort and my strength. I pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
