Heavenly Father,

We come before You in humble reverence, guided by the teachings of Your Word, especially as expressed in 1 Corinthians 7:2, where it is written, "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband." Lord, as we reflect upon this scripture, we recognize the divine wisdom and purpose behind the sanctity of marriage and the need for companionship that aligns with Your holy will.

Lord, we acknowledge that You created us for relationship, both with You and with one another. In a world where temptation lurks at every corner, particularly through the normalization of fornication and casual relationships, we seek Your protection and guidance in all our interactions. Help us, O God, to understand the importance of stepping into relationships and marriages that honor You, ensuring that our desires align with Your plan for us.

As we meditate on the phrase, "to avoid fornication," may we glean from it a greater understanding of Your heart for us. You desire to shield us from the pain and heartache that often accompany relationships that drift from Your design. Lord, we ask for wisdom to recognize the values of commitment and fidelity, knowing that true love requires patience, kindness, and dedication.

Father, help us to cultivate hearts that understand the depth of love that You show to us—one that is sacrificial, faithful, and eternal. Teach us that each relationship we pursue should echo that same love, mirroring the covenant You have with Your church. Prepare our hearts and minds to receive partners who will walk beside us in faith, encouraging us and holding us accountable in our journeys of faith, so that we might glorify You through our unions.

For those who are single, Lord, we pray for discernment and strength. Encourage them while they await the right partner, reminding them that they are complete in You. May this time of waiting be filled with purpose, as they draw nearer to You, seek to grow in their relationship with You, and understand their value as individuals in Your eyes.

And for those who are married, give them the grace to cherish and honor each other as You intend. Help them to foster an environment of love and respect, where each feels safe and valued. Let them communicate openly and nurture their bond with love that penetrates beyond the surface, reaching the core of who they are—Your beloved creations.

Lord, protect our relationships from the snares of the enemy, who seeks to destroy marriages and families by introducing doubt, temptation, and division. Empower us to seek support within our spiritual communities, to build relationships based on accountability and love that represents You. May we become a reflection of Christ’s love, guiding others to see the beauty in holy unions.

Father, let every man have his own wife, and every woman have her own husband, as You have ordained. May our relationships reflect your glory and anchor us amidst the storms of life. Help us navigate our emotions, desires, and expectations, leaning on Your promises. Teach us to pursue holiness, knowing our bodies are temples of Your Holy Spirit and should be treated with honor.

In all things, Lord, may we glorify You with our hearts, our minds, and our bodies, recognizing that every relationship is an opportunity to witness to Your unending love. We trust in Your faithfulness, knowing that with You at the center, our relationships can withstand the trials of life.
