A Prayer for Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification, and Redemption
"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord." - 1 Corinthians 1:30-31

O Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with humble hearts, awed by the profound truth of Your Word, specifically from the book of 1 Corinthians 1:30-31, where we are reminded that: "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord." Lord, we thank You for the gift of Christ, who is the embodiment of all wisdom and righteousness. We acknowledge that it is solely by Your grace that we are united with Him, and thus partake in the divine wisdom that He generously bestows upon us.
Father, as we gather in prayer, we seek Your wisdom. Grant us insight beyond human understanding, that we may navigate the complexities of life with clarity and discernment. May we not lean on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge You, Lord, so that You may direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). We ask for wisdom to make decisions that align with Your purpose and light, especially in moments of doubt or uncertainty.
In a world filled with confusion and chaos, help us realize that true wisdom is found in reverence for You, and that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7). Teach us to prioritize our relationship with You above all else, knowing that through humility an understanding is granted.
Lord, we also come to You seeking righteousness, recognizing that it is not by our own merit, but through Christ that we can stand justified before You. Help us to daily pursue righteousness in our thoughts, actions, and relationships. May our lives reflect Your nature, and may we extend grace and truth to those around us. We recognize that righteousness is also a call to action, leading us towards compassion and service to others. Inspire us to be vessels of Your love and instruments of Your peace in a world longing for hope.
Sanctification is another aspect of what You have given us through Christ, and we pray for the continual work of Your Holy Spirit in our lives. Cleanse us from any unrighteousness, Lord, and mold us into vessels that reflect Your holiness. As we grow in our faith, may we increasingly bear the fruit of the Spirit in our lives—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Help us to remember that sanctification is an ongoing process and empower us to persevere in our walk with You, even when we stumble.
Lastly, we come to You in deep gratitude for the gift of redemption. Lord God, we thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son, which has secured our freedom from sin and death. Help us to never take for granted the price that was paid for our redemption. May our hearts overflow with gratitude which leads us to glory in You alone. When tempted to find our worth in our achievements or status, remind us that our worth is anchored in the truth of who Christ is and what He has done for us.
Heavenly Father, let us glory in You and brag about Your faithfulness, Your mercy, and Your grace. May we always declare that every good thing in our lives comes from Your hand. As we celebrate the wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption that You provide through Christ, inspire us to share the good news of Your love with those around us.
We close this prayer with reverence for You, acknowledging that all glory belongs to You alone. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
