Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with hearts filled with gratitude and a longing to serve You and others in a spirit of generosity and love. As Your Word instructs us in 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 (KJV), "Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come." Lord, we thank You for Your holy scriptures, which guide us in our actions, both as individuals and as a community of believers.

Father, we recognize that everything we have is a blessing from You. You are the giver of all good things, and with each gift, You not only provide for our needs but also inspire us to share those blessings with others. Teach us, Lord, to understand the importance of stewardship in our lives. We acknowledge that our time, talents, and treasures are gifts meant not only to enrich our own lives but to help build Your kingdom here on earth.

As we reflect on this scripture, we ask for Your wisdom to discern how best to allocate our resources for the benefit of the saints and the work of Your Kingdom. Help us to lay aside a portion for those in need each week, so that there be no last-minute scrambles or lack of resources upon Your coming among us. Let our contributions be of a joyful heart, not of compulsion, realizing that true giving springs from love and gratitude.

Lord, we pray for a spirit of unity in our church, that we may work together harmoniously for the good of our community. May the spirit of generosity flow freely among us, fostering deeper connections and shared responsibilities. In times of need, let us be quick to respond with kindness and support, making a tangible difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We also lift up to You the saints who are suffering and in need. May our collections not just be a gathering of funds, but a lifeline to those who are struggling. Let each offering serve as a reminder of Your unfailing love and provision. May we always be sensitive to the needs of the less fortunate and strive to be Your hands and feet, bringing hope and assistance to those who feel alone or marginalized.

Father, we pray for our hearts to be aligned with Your will. Help us to prosper not only in material wealth but in spiritual abundance, so that we may further bless others through our overflow. May our lives be a reflection of Your grace, generosity, and love. Strengthen our resolve to give generously as You have given to us, not just in wealth, but also in time, talents, and compassion.

We also commit our leaders and those who oversee the collection process into Your hands. Grant them wisdom and discernment as they manage the resources entrusted to them. May they use this money wisely, ensuring that every dollar is put to good use in service of Your plans and purposes.

Lord, let this concept of laying aside as we have been prospered become a practice that shapes our character. May it be a discipline that we cherish, understanding that giving is not merely about finances but about embodying the very essence of Your sacrificial love.

In conclusion, we thank You, O God, for the privilege to participate in Your mission through our gifts. We recognize that every contribution, no matter how small, matters when offered in love and faith. Teach us to cherish and honor the act of giving, as we strive to create a community that reflects Your generosity and grace in all things.
