Heavenly Father,

As I come before You today, I am filled with a sense of awe and reverence for Your divine presence. I thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. I seek to align my heart with the teachings found in the book of 1 Corinthians 14:1, where Your Holy Spirit instructs us to "Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy."

Lord, first and foremost, I ask that You instill in me a deep and abiding love—charity—that reflects Your very nature. Help me to embody this love in every interaction I have, whether with friends, family, or even strangers. Teach me that love is not merely an emotion, but an action that seeks the welfare of others. May it be my guiding principle, nurturing kindness, patience, and understanding in my heart. Enable me to follow after charity earnestly, for I recognize that without love, all my other gifts and calling are of no value.

I pray that through Your love, I may see others through Your eyes. Open my heart to be truly compassionate, able to empathize with those who are hurting, and willing to extend grace and mercy where needed. Let this love drive me to serve others humbly, motivating me to seek their joy and lift their burdens, reflecting Christ’s love that was poured out on the cross for us all. Lord, may my actions and my words whisper Your love and grace to those around me, leading them to You.

Moreover, Father, I humbly desire the spiritual gifts that You have to offer. I recognize that these gifts are meant for the edification of the Church and the glorification of Your Name. Stir within me a longing for those spiritual gifts that build up my faith and the faith of others. Place within my heart a desire—not for personal gain—but for the empowerment needed to fulfill my calling in Your kingdom.

Guide me in understanding my gifts and talents, Lord. Help me to discern which gifts You have bestowed upon me, whether it be the gift of teaching, healing, or prophecy, as mentioned in Your Word. May I never take these gifts for granted but rather cherish them as instruments of Your work.

In particular, Lord, I ask for the gift of prophecy. Help me to be a vessel through which Your messages can flow—words of encouragement, truth, and visionary insight. May I be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, always ready to speak with clarity and conviction when called upon. I pray that through prophesy, I may not only reveal Your heart but also spur others on towards deeper intimacy with You. Let my words stir up faith and hope in the hearts of those who hear them.

As I pursue these spiritual gifts, remind me, O Lord, that I must continually center my thoughts and actions on Your love. Help me to weave love through the fabric of all my spiritual activities, lest I become like a clanging cymbal—loud and empty without the essence of Your heart behind it.

Finally, I pray for unity within the Body of Christ. Let our worship and our spiritual gifts flow together harmoniously, edifying one another and glorifying Your Holy Name. May we always work together in love, ensuring that our combined efforts reflect Your kingdom on earth.

I surrender my desires, my hopes, and my gifts to You, Father, and I ask all of this in the matchless Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
