O Sovereign Lord, Creator of Heaven and Earth, today I come before You with a humble heart, eager to understand and reflect upon Your eternal Word found in 1 Chronicles 4:22. As I meditate on the verse that speaks of Jokim, the men of Chozeba, Joash, Saraph, and their dominion in Moab, I recognize the depth and significance of these ancient names and deeds that have shaped the course of history.

Lord, I acknowledge that every name mentioned in Your Scriptures carries meaning and represents a legacy. These men, who lived in ancient times, exemplified strength and authority in their dominion. Their lives remind me that even in the midst of trials and tribulations, there are those who rose up and took their place in the business of the Kingdom. I am reminded, Lord, that You call us to be men and women of valor, to establish our own dominion in the spheres You have placed us in and to leave a legacy that speaks of faith and courage.

As I reflect on Jokim, I am inspired by his name, which means 'to establish' or 'to appoint.' Lord, help me to establish a foundation of faith in my life, in my family, and within my community. Let my actions be ones that appoint others to a higher calling and purpose. As Jokim was a leader among his people, guide me to be a leader who reflects Your love and truth. Equip me, O God, to stand firm in my beliefs and to lead with humility and grace.

The men of Chozeba—what an intriguing group they must have been! Their name, suggesting a dwelling place or home-like safety, evokes in me a desire to create a safe haven for those who are lost and weary. Lord, grant me the wisdom to understand how to extend my hospitality to others, to provide comfort and support, and to open my heart to those You send my way. Let my home be a reflection of Your love—a refuge for the persecuted, a gathering for the broken, and a launchpad for those who seek to know You more deeply.

Joash, whose name means 'gift,' also resonates within me. Teach me, dear Lord, to recognize the gifts I have been given and to use them for Your glory. I pray that I may not only appreciate the gifts I have but also be generous in encouraging others to identify and cultivate their own gifts. Help me to uplift others and to create spaces where they can discover and flourish in their calling. May my every action be a gift of love back to You, as we know that every good gift comes from above.

When I contemplate Saraph, I am reminded of the fiery aspects of Your presence that transform and purify. Let me seek after that refining fire, Lord. Burn away the impurities in my heart, and draw me closer to Your perfect will. Help me to embrace trials as a means of purification, preparing me for the greater dominion You have in store for me and those I influence.

Furthermore, I consider Jashubi-lehem, whose name evokes association with Bethlehem, a place of significance—the birthplace of our Savior. May I never take for granted the beauty and humble beginnings that can lead to greatness. Just as Your Son came into the world in a lowly place, remind me that humility can herald extraordinary works.

Finally, I now pray that I would not only remember these ancient figures and their acts of dominion but that I would live a life that honors their legacy and points others to the eternal Kingdom. May my actions echo the truths of Your Word as I strive to influence my surroundings with righteousness, hope, and love.

Thank you, Lord, for the history and heritage of Your people. May I always seek to understand the "ancient things" that You have accomplished and continue to accomplish in our lives today. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
