Heavenly Father,

We come before You this day, reflecting on the words of 1 Chronicles 27:31, where it is written, "And over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagerite. All these were the rulers of the substance which was king David's." As we meditate on this passage, we are reminded of the immense responsibilities You have entrusted to us, much like You entrusted King David with the rulership over Your people and their resources. Lord, we thank You for being a God of order and for appointing leaders, just as You appointed Jaziz and others over the flocks and substance of David.

Father, we ask for wisdom and discernment as we seek to fulfill the roles and responsibilities in our lives and communities. Just as Jaziz was placed over the flocks, we seek to oversee the tasks and opportunities You have given to us with diligence and integrity. May we be found faithful in our stewardship over our families, our communities, and our personal endeavors.

Oh Lord, instill in us a sense of responsibility, much like King David exhibited over his people. Teach us to value the resources and relationships that surround us, recognizing that they ultimately belong to You. Help us to manage these gifts wisely, ensuring that we serve others and bring glory to Your name through our actions.

We pray for the leaders in our lives — our families, our employers, community leaders, and those in positions of authority throughout the world. Just as David had rulers over his substance, may those in leadership today lead with wisdom, justice, and compassion. Let them be inspired by Your Word and motivated by a heart that seeks to serve rather than be served. Guard their hearts against pride and entitlement, reminding them of their role as stewards of the resources and people You have entrusted to them.

As we reflect on Jaziz the Hagerite, remind us that leadership comes in many forms and from various backgrounds. Help us to recognize that every leader has a unique purpose, and may they realize the privilege it is to serve in their capacity. Let us not overlook those who may seem ordinary, for You can do extraordinary things through them. Let us support and uplift all those who are placed in leadership roles, encouraging them in their journey, as they steward the gifts and responsibilities laid upon them.

Lord, we also seek to cultivate a heart of gratitude, knowing that all we have is a gift from You. In a world that often encourages striving for more, may we surrender our ambitions and our fears, trusting that You will provide for our needs and allow us to be conduits of blessing to others. Help us, Father, to share generously from the abundance You have provided, to care for those who are in lack, and to advocate for those who have been marginalized.

As we endeavor to lead and serve others, let us be reminded of the gravity of our responsibilities. May we seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with You each day. Let our administration of the substance we oversee mirror the principles found in Your Holy Scriptures. Fill our hearts with passion for righteousness and commitment to Your will.

Lastly, we invite Your Spirit to guide us in our everyday decisions, much like You guided David and his appointed leaders. May we remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word, seeking Your direction in all matters. Tune our hearts to hear Your voice, and align our thoughts with Your purposes for our lives.

We thank You for the daily opportunities to serve and to lead, and we offer ourselves anew to You, asking that You would lead us in the paths of righteousness.
