As we reflect on the words found in 1 Chronicles 12:29, which speaks of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, we find ourselves inspired by the unity and purpose displayed by those who aligned themselves with the rightful king, David. Your words remind us of the importance of our heritage, our relationships, and our responsibilities towards one another as families and communities.

Lord, we thank You for the rich tapestry of our families, those who came before us, and those who stand beside us today. As we meditate on the phrase, "for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul," we recognize the call to duty. Teach us, O Lord, about our responsibilities towards one another. Help us to understand that keeping watch over our families goes beyond mere presence; it requires vigilance, prayer, and action. Grant us the strength to protect and nurture those You have placed in our care.
