An artistic rendition in the pointillism style, which was popular in the late 19th century and predominantly used techniques of painting small, distinct dots of color. The image respectfully depicts a significant scene from Christianity: Adam, as described in Genesis 3:17-18 of the King James Version Bible. An emotionally distressed Adam stands amidst afield that was once lush but is now barren, cursed by divine edict. The ground is now a challenging landscape of thorns and thistles. Despite the harsh environment, Adam perseveres, harvesting herbs for sustenance. The focus of this image is humility, hardship, and dignity, in line with devotional themes.
