**Divine Order in Divine Service**

1 Chronicles 26:13 (KJV) states, "And they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for every gate."

In this passage, the context is that of organizing the duties of the porters or gatekeepers for the house of the Lord. This chapter details the roles assigned to various families within the Levite tribe, who were responsible for guarding the entrances to the temple. The gatekeepers remind us that each role is divinely appointed and to be honored as such.

Modern believers often lean into self-sufficiency, feeling pressured to "figure everything out" without fully depending on divine direction or guidance. However, in casting lots, there is an inherent act of surrender—the acknowledgment that it is ultimately God who ordains our paths. This makes us reflect on our prayer life.
